The blooming market for phone applications could mean more apps are sold than CDs two years from now. A study predicts the current annual sales of 7 billion apps last year will rise to 50 billion by that time.

The Federal Communications Commission says it has already received positive feedback from TV broadcasters over its plans to reallocate spectrum for mobile services. It’s not known yet if that’s down to particularly generous offers in sharing the proceeds of the resulting auctions.
