If you want a 3G Nexus 7 you are in luck. Both T-Mobile and AT&T are offering promotions to customers who order Nexus 7 tablets from the Google Play store. T-Mobile allows you to get your SIM card bundled with your original purchase and you can order your plan at the same time offering you one stop shopping. AT&T is offering a $100 statement credit to Nexus 7 purchasers who choose AT&T data service.
According to Phandroid you can purchase a 32 GB HSPA+ enabled unlocked Nexus 7 bundled with a T-Mobile SIM card from the Google Play store for $299.00. You can also set up your service at the same time giving you a one stop shopping experience for both tablet and mobile data service.
Android Police reported that if you purchase a 32 GB HSPA+ unlocked Nexus7 from Google Play and purchase AT&T service for the tablet through February 14, 2013, you will get a $100 credit on your bill. While the $100 credit is definitely a plus, you have to purchase the service either using a number provided for AT&T or you have to go into an AT&T store to get the deal. This offer provides the equivalent of the $100 off tablet sale that AT&T is now running.
Both AT&T and T-Mobile offer contract plans for tablet data service. At&T’s begins at $10 for a shared plan. Individual monthly plans start at $14.99 for 250MB, $30 for 3G, and $50 for 5G. There are overage fees for exceeding your data limit.
T-Mobile has no contract plans that begin with a week pass for $15 for 300MB, and continue with monthly passes for $25 for 1.5G, $35 for 3.5 G and $50 for 5 GB. The company’s “Overage Free Classic plans” are all monthly. For $39.99 you get 2G of data. $49.99 per month will get you 5G and $79.99 will net you 10G.
Of course you need to look into which company has the best service in your area and which one will fit your needs for the best price. Either way you get a great tablet to use with whatever data plan you choose.
