Samsung’s Emporio Armani Night Effect site is an odd name to have for a mobile phone. If one was of a suspicious mind one would say Emporio Armani had nothing to do with the design. Merely that Samsung showed what they were doing and Emporio Armani — not a known cell phone expert — said ‘that looks cool’, start paying the royalty.

Samsung has shown what it claims is the world’s first solar-powered mobile phone. It is, of course, nothing of the sort. It is the first widely available solar-powered phone. One-off specials have already been widely used by journalists and similar travelers who do not have power on tap.

If you’re looking for an iPhone clone with the potential of actually being usable, the LG Arena looks, on the specifications, like it might actually deliver a decent experience. It is set to fight it out head to head with the Apple iPhone. And according to the press release LG Australia just sent out, it will deliver that experience as soon as next month. The press release does not sat who will win. They are not that brave.
